During convos- they actually listen, give feedback/advice, and be there for me whenever I need them. A chat, a visit- from there I'd say the friendship grows and so does trust w/what things can be told to that person etc.

I think that one of the biggest things for me is when I go through my phone list in a pinch needing some help...if I will call them they are a true friend.

The very first thing someone does to gain my trust... well usually when I first meet someone I pay attention to how kind they are to others or how they talk about others. I like to keep company with people who treat people with respect, and who are friendly. Not sure if I answered this right.. ;)

First thing, is to be friendly. They need to let you know that they are here for you and personally, have some Christlike attributes. That's what comes to mind reading that. Love ya sis!

One thing I love about my best friend... aka my husband, is that he has proved the test of time. He is consistently trustworthy. If you have someone that continually lets you down, it's hard to regain that trust... not impossible... but it takes a lot of time to regain trust once it's lost.

My mom was never part of gossip circles and consequently was the last to know about things, but the first to know about my problems, because I knew my "issues" were safe with her. Hmmmm... maybe she wasn't the last to know things, she just didn't spread them around.

for me... the first thing a friend does to gain my trust is to listen to me and keep what I say safe..... maybe to leave me a sweet note in regards to our conversation or something... just so I know he/she is listening and cares about what I have to say.
